HISTORY of Changó

Changó, or Shangó, a key figure in Santeria, originates from the Yoruba people of West Africa. Revered as the god of thunder, fire, war, and dance, he's depicted as a warrior king in red and white. Known for courage, justice, and passion, Changó defends his followers and embodies vibrant energy. Devotees seek his guidance in love, justice, and strength, offering red apples, rum, and cigars. His presence in Santeria blends Yoruba and Catholic traditions, often linked to Saint Barbara and celebrated on December 4th. Changó stands as a significant deity, symbolizing strength, justice, and the joy of life.
